Lynne R Byrd
Lynne brings more than 20 years experience in retail, image consulting, and management to her business as president of Rahe Lynne Clothier. Prior to purchasing Rahe Lynne Clothier in 1998, her career included being a marketing director for a healthcare services company and overseeing 40 store locations for Clinique in a three-state region, responsible for the hiring of all counter consultants, account coordinators and managers.
Fueled by a keen fashion sense and a passion for style, Lynne set out to create an experience and exclusivity in how she operated and presented her boutique in the marketplace that would set new standards of retail excellence. Starting with very strong and close ties to the New York design houses, Lynne forged a bond with designers, which has resulted in lines exclusive to the boutique and special considerations on behalf of clients.
Lynne’s focus on service and her passion for making women look and feel their absolute best has proven pivotal to her career and business success, as well as how she contributes to the community at large. She has served on numerous committees and boards including being appointed recently to the Carolinas Concert Association. She dedicates a significant portion of her boutique’s annual budget for charitable giving. Recently a co-chair for the Auction of the American Heart Association 2005 and 2006 Heart Ball, Lynne was responsible for helping raise more than $420,000. Charlotte Taste also awarded Lynne the Red Carpet Award for best dressed among 250 women at the 2005 Heart Ball.
Lynne and her boutique have been featured locally in Skirt magazine, Luxury Living magazine, the Charlotte Business Journal, Charlotte Taste, and the Charlotte Observer. The feature article, “High Style in the South End,” appears in Southern Living Magazine’s Carolina Living section in the November 2005 issue. Her fashion lines have been featured in Vogue, W, More, Essence, Oprah, and InStyle magazines. Lynne was named a Rising Star of the Year finalist in 2001, and a Woman Business Owner of the Year finalist in 2005 by NAWBO-Charlotte.
A native Charlottean, Lynne currently resides in Concord, NC with her husband Mitch, and two dogs. She enjoys running, gourmet cooking, the arts, and making a difference in the community, in business, and in people’s lives.
