Charlotte, NC – Lafayette 148 of New York is being featured by Rahe Lynne Clothier in an exclusive showcase of its Spring 2006 fashions. The event will take place at the boutique's by-appointment-only showroom Monday, February 13 through Wednesday, February 22, 2006. The Showcase represents the most extensive presentation of the Lafayette 148 Spring 2006 line in the Charlotte marketplace and among the first in the Southeast. Rahe Lynne Clothier has enjoyed these exclusive showings for the past three years.
The fashions in this year’s collection have successfully captured the glamour and sophistication of the 1940s for all out femininity that is cut with a modern edge for a fresh look with timeless appeal. Unexpected new fabrics such as butter soft leathers, flowing chiffon, and lightweight tweeds combine for sheer fabric overlays lending an airy quality and adding flair to the silhouettes created by the ensembles. Lightweight knitwear is also featured this season throughout the collection to work fabulously as stand-alone items and perfectly in a layered look. From softer shades of beach glass, taupe, and corals to rich shades of orchid, teal, cinnabar, and chocolate, solids and prints equally demand attention in unison with these elegant cunning designs.
